T20 World Cup: South Africa vs West Indies | South Africa Beat Defending Champions West Indies By 8 Wickets

In the 18th match of the T20 World Cup, South Africa defeated defending champions West Indies by 8 wickets.

In this match played in Dubai, South Africa won the toss and decided to field first. 

West Indies scored 143 runs for the loss of 8 wickets while playing first, in reply South Africa completed the target of 144 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the 19th over.

For West Indies, Avon Lewis stood out with 56 runs, while South African bowler Dwayne Pretoris took three wickets and Keshu Maharaj took two wickets.

South Africa achieved the target of 144 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in 18.2 overs.

For South Africa, Aiden Merkram scored 51, Reza Hendricks 39 and Dawson 43.

Keep in mind that both West Indies and South Africa, who are in Group One in the Super 12 stage, lost their first match and this match is important for both these teams.

In Super 12, each team will play five matches after which the top 4 teams of both the groups will qualify for the semi-finals.
